Well Alfie, what is it all about, anyway?I have been in several bands over the years. Not as many as I would have liked, but quite a few. I didn't set out to be a one-man band. It has simply been hard to find people with similar musical interests and goals. Rather than let that stop me, I turned to my friends, the machines, to fill the role of backup group. I still hope that I might find a rhythm section to stretch out with, but I'm not holding my breath. Life is short, why wait? It also seems more likely that I will meet other musicians with similar interests if I'm out making some noise. What are those interests? Playing music with a heavy dose of improvisation. Playing covers, but bringing my own impressions to them. And the goals? Regional success. A retirement plan. Local airplay. iTunes play. CD sales. Fun. Lots of fun. |
